Radric Davis (born February 12, 1980), better known by his stage name Gucci Mane, is an American rapper and CEO of So Icey Entertainment. He debuted in 2005 with Trap House and followed with albums such as Hard to Kill in 2006, Trap-A-Thon and Back to the Trap House in 2007. In 2009, his second studio album The State vs. Radric Davis was released.
During his career, Gucci Mane served time in jail for legal issues. While serving a six-month term for assault, he was charged for murder in late 2005, but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. In 2009, he began serving a yearlong prison term for violating probation for his 2005 assault conviction. He is currently incarcerated in Fulton County jail.
But Gucci Mane carries on to bring out tracklist and lyrics in spite of being put away in the Fulton County Jail for a year. Gucci and disc jockey Holiday will release all-new material entitled The Burrprint 2, a 24-track mixtape that features appearances by Ludacris, Nicki Minaj, DJ Khaled Jim Jones, Yo Gotti, Lil’ Kim Trey Songz, Waka Flocka Flames, OJ Da Juice Man and others.
The Burrprint 2 was registered before Gucci’s year-long bid for breaching his probation, while the introductory song on the album “Live From Fulton County Jail,” was registered over the phone during his imprisonment.
Gucci Mane is already planning the follow-up to his hit album The State Vs. Radric Davis, with a fresh album titled The Appeal, which is slated to land in stores this Summer.
